Garrett Brown Designs
During my time as a Furniture Designer at this small furniture and millwork company, I was responsible for creating detailed SolidWorks drawings and build packets to guide the fabrication of custom pieces. I collaborated closely with interior designers to translate their concepts into buildable, visually compelling designs, ensuring both form and function were thoughtfully addressed. On the shop floor, I worked alongside skilled craftsmen to determine the best fabrication methods for each project, often troubleshooting unique design challenges in real time. I also prototyped concepts in the shop to explore materials, joinery, and structural solutions, and frequently jumped into the build process when extra hands were needed. My role included a bit of everything—design, drafting, prototyping, welding, and even installation—giving me a well-rounded, hands-on understanding of the entire lifecycle of custom furniture making. I worked on many projects during my time here, but do to my lack of picture taking these are the only ones I'm able to show.
